Hey! I am not being paid or receiving compensation for editing. It is my first post so I picked the topic (company) that I am really familiar with and feel comfortable writing about. However, I just made the account today and don't know the ropes so well yet, so I am truly sorry If I have made a mistake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Strelec (talkcontribs)

Nonfree images

Natureisablessing (talk) 09:56, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

There is an article Anchal Sahu which is being considered for deletion. I want to add an image there which is non-free fair use(link- So can I add it there? and I want to add an image of Ashnoor Kaur in the article Ashnoor Kaur and the image's link is below. Can you please tell which copyright will it be?- Natureisablessing (talk) 09:54, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

@Natureisablessing images of a living person MUST be freely licensed. You cannot use images from Facebook or Twitter, those site have licenses that are not considered free. WP:NFC#UULP covers the non-free content criteria - note #1 "Pictures of people still alive". Ravensfire (talk) 13:43, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

And what about these?: (Taken from Youtube) (Taken from a news site Pinkvilla)

Do you see ANYTHING on those pages that supports a compatible license? Remember that basically every site is protected by copyright. The page must explicitly state that it as a compatible license (please read the WP:IUPC page). Generally, assume that an image you find online does not have a compatible license for Wikipedia. Yes, it's a strict policy that a lot of other websites don't have / ignore, but the goal of Wikipedia is to provide a freely available encyclopedia. None of those images are acceptable. Okay. I'll try my best to not violate any copyright now. Thank You for guiding me.

@SpinyRabbit052: - You can have fun hosting your tournament at any number of other free web hosting services. -- Whpq (talk) 20:24, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
@Whpq: - But I didn't find anywhere free web hosting services :(.
@SpinyRabbit052: - fandom is a free wiki. Wix allows you to create web sites for free. -- Whpq (talk) 21:42, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
@Whpq: - I seen this but there is no fixture and result to make it.

Oops, I kinda doubled up on the speedy deletion on this when I found the original source. I am not sure if that's something that needs to be undone or fixed in any way. Well, the image doesn't belong here without VRT. Cheers, --SVTCobra 00:35, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

I want to be blocked.

Non free image from Youtube

Could you please take a look at File:TommyInnit On Tom Simons Vlog Channel Video "A Month In The Life Of Tom Simons".png? My long term understanding is that this type of usage is not allowed unless the person is deceased and there's no longer any opportunity to create an original. There has been a lot of promotion towards this article. The rationale used itself seems 'wrong' in that it should be used in context of a commentary on a video, not as a means of identifying an individual in a BLP. Thanks.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 03:06, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

@Rocknrollmancer: Your understanding is correct. The use of this image to "quickly see what Tom looks like" does not meet WP:NFCC#1. As a living person, even if there is currently no free image of the person, one could be made by somebody snapping a photo of the person and releasing under a free license. As such the image is replaceable. As it does not meet the criteria for use of non-free content, it should be deleted. You can tag replaceable non-free images for deletion by adding {{subst:rnfu}}(that four letter acronym template stands for Replaceable Non-Free Use) to the file description. -- Whpq (talk) 03:30, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
