Dakar Region

Dakar is a region in the west of Senegal. The regional capital is Dakar, which is also the national capital.

As of the 2013 census, 2,956,023 people lived there. It has an area of 547 km² (211 sq mi).

There are four départements:

• Dakar Département
• Guédiawaye Département
• Pikine Département
• Rufisque Département
