Testament é unha banda estadounidense de heavy metal procedente de Berkeley (California).[1] Formada en 1983 co nome Legacy, a día de hoxe o grupo está composto polo vocalista Chuck Billy, os guitarristas Eric Peterson e Alex Skolnick, o baixista Steve Di Giorgio e o batería Gene Hoglan. Nos seus anos de carreira Testament tivo numerosos cambios na súa formación, e Peterson vén sendo o seu único membro constante. Billy substituíu o antigo cantante Steve Souza en 1986, antes da gravación do seu primeiro álbum de estudio, The Legacy, e foi membro da banda dende entón. Billy e Peterson son os únicos que aparecen en todos os álbums de Testament.
